it really computes some before climbing them…
the new gait allows more off-road
4 new gaits are stored, Tall grass, Tile floor, Body low, Default preset.
to each preset it’s possible to add ‘extra tibia lift’, the result is a bit funny but allow to walk in tall grass or pass over roots/branches

Orange uBug V2. Pan & Grip Head test. This version of the uBug is using Hitec HS-65HB servos, Battery source is a 6V 2600mah AA NiMh pack. Control is using a 3 axis joystick via the PodJoy application connected via bluetooth to the p.Brain-uHexEngine. The Pan & Grip head is obviously only suitable for light duty loads, but a fun addition none the less
Hexapod weight including battery pack and electronics is 585g. More info can be found at: www.hexapodrobot.com

These are my new Android Apps. As there is useable bluetooth on a HTC Hero, these apps now allow my hexapod to be controlled either:
HTC Hero ~bluetooth~ Hexapod
or
iPod Touch ~wifi~ Hero ~bluetooth~ Hexapod
This removes any need for a computer.

This hexapod is based on the V4 design, however, this version has some significant differences: Aluminium constriction, larger more powerful Tibia servos, and a new p.Brain-ds on-board locomotion engine based on a dsPIC30F device.

Spider robot video recorded by Scott Stevenson on September 13, 2006 at Apple Expo 2006 (porte de Versailles). The commentary is in French. The man speaking about the robot was from: http://www.vieartificielle.com/ .
This spider robot is special in that unlike natural spiders that have eight legs it only has six legs. It is not a six legged spider it is a six legged ROBOT spider!

T-Hex is a hexapod with 4 DOF per leg. Mech inspired body design. Running a modified version of the Phoenix V2.0 written by Jeroen Janssen (aka Xan). The onboard program runs on a Basic Atom Pro 28 mcu from Basic Micro. Just a little demo of T-hex moving and walking around. Sorry for the bad video quality from my old mobile phone. I’ll post something better later.
