March of the Robots
It is the face of cutting edge robotics, a vision of where consumer robotics is hoping to reach and itself a prototype for the types of machine that could one day be in our homes.
“We are continuing our research in hopes that we can one day introduce Asimo (a Robot made by Honda) into a home, or a hospital or maybe someday it will be fighting fires.”
Robots and Biology - the Beginning
“The Swiss and French scientists made the robot, named Salamandra Robotica, swim in Lake Geneva and crawl on the lake shore. They also said the robot demonstrated that biology offers good ideas for robot design.”
Sounds like Robots are being developed with more and more biological features…. hmmmmm, I wonder what this will lead to??

Robot Ethics Charter
“The so-called Robot Ethics Charter, as proposed by the South Korean Government, will reflect the three laws of robotics as put forward in the 1940s by science fiction writer, Isaac Asimov.
Those laws demand that robots not injure humans, that robots obey humans, and that robots protect themselves provided this doesn’t conflict with other laws.
The South Koreans say the time when robots think for themselves is in the not too distant future.”
Duhhh!
Killer Robots!!
JERUSALEM (Reuters) — An Israeli defense firm on Thursday unveiled a portable robot billed as being capable of entering most combat zones alone and engaging enemies with an onboard armory that includes a machine-pistol and grenades.

The Robot Apocalypse!
“Robots will rule the World one day… oh yes, they will rule the World.”
Ok, ok… before you get to scared, let me assure you that there is still much time before the reign of the robots begin. Now, depending on your definition of “much time” this could be good news, or bad.
Many years ago, friends and I have always joked that one day robots will rule the world. Movies like Bladerunner, iRobot, AI, and so on have long introduced the idea to us, however, tangible evidence is becoming more and more prevalent in today’s society.
Today, we see simple applications of robots integrated into our daily lives. Aibo, the robot dog. Roomba, the robot vacuum cleaner - just to name a few. Every day, you see more news on new developments in technological advancements involving robots and how they make our lives easier.
It’s not hard to imagine that this generation will see a breakthrough in the robot revolution in ways that make our lives better. Yes, the attraction is evident. Remember the Jetsons? The cartoon with a robot maid? Mainstream robots will surely be available in the near future.
From there, the world will become intertwinded with human and robot automation. Our world as we know it today, will become “simpler” with the help of robots.
But, is it hard to imagine sometime in the future (100 years from now?) that humans become so dependant on robots, and that robots become so intelligent to the point they “outsmart” humans?
Well, this is just the beginning. Not only for the robot revolution - but also for this blog
Maybe one day, people will look back at this website and say “yah, this was revolutionary!” Anyways, the goal really is only to have a bit of fun and to share new developments with others in the world of robots.
Hopefully, when the robots DO rule the world, they will remember me as a kind supporter and have mercy on me.
All hail the robots!!!
