Why is it that humanoid Youko Kurama only has 1 tail when his little fox form has 4? I haven’t been able to figure this out and I am a divot YYH fan.
Pretty simple…like all great Demons, they look human and in that form they have to seal up some of their energy…well at lease in some anime…
In YYH you notice that most of the strong demons look human while the lower class look like monsters….so when he was a lower class demon he looked more like a monster and when he became strong enough he adapted the human form which made him look..well..human (and cuter!) I actually just started YYH because my anime addiction just ended (FMA omg ch 108 was EPIC) and I thought might as well watch a classic…
I would hate to fan girl all over this answer but…I think Kurama looks so much sexier in his Shuichi form! OK I’m done ;3

There’s an episode of Star Trek: TNG towards the end of the series where it is revealed that ancient humanoids seeded the universe with the precursors of intelligent life. This explains why so many of the alien species encountered by humans are (conveniently, in terms of makeup and prosthetics) bilaterally symmetrical bipeds.
I believe this must have been in season 7. What was the name of this episode?
the episode is called the chase!
and actually it was in season 6!

I’m talking about a technology that makes the robot behave and interact indistinguishable from a human…except that inside, it is a machine. Just a thought. Explain your view.
P.S- Sorry if this has little to do with Astronomy, people here seem to have some quite of knowledge of machine/robotic substance, so I figured.
Great assumption, Nix. I see where you are coming from.
how could you tell?
ever called a "help" desk? you get a human (most of the time, if you wait long enough), but I guarantee you don’t talk to the same person that you would over drinks while watching the game. What you get is a programmed human. Having worked a similar job, I can tell you that we are NOT allowed to say things, even if we think it would help, that MAY offend someone, no matter how ludicrous the possibility. In many ways, I think its not too far in the future before ‘help desk’ employees are replaces by computers.
now, replacing the guy you watch the game with will be harder.

Across North America there is something strange and frightening circling overhead. Witnesses tell of human-like creatures that float or hover in the skies and often descend to attack. Legends and folklore tell of strange flying creatures, but in the 1940s and 1950s, strange humanoid forms were spotted above small towns, bringing waves of panic. Skeptics claim that identification explains these creatures, however the mounting evidence says otherwise. MonsterQuest will analyze the video proof of this monster while scientists work to discover the identity of an eerie corpse that may unlock the mystery of these flying humanoid monster.

People, who claim to be abducted by aliens, always describe thier captors to be humanoid in appearance. I think this is absurd. Having 2 eyes (albeit big ones), 2 arms, 2 legs, and one head would suggest the creature evolved on earth. Look around. All living things on Earth follow a similar design. It’s no accident the dog has 4 legs.
I think those aliens evolved on earth. My opinion is — these are evolved humans. We were rats, then monkeys, then apes, then humans. Whats next? There is increasing intelligence, increasing visual acuity, increasing use of tools and technology. We look to a future where we use less and less physical strength. That means bigger eyes, bigger brains, smaller body. Ergo — aliens. Now, why are these aliens abducting people? Here it is, as any species evolves to the highest level, the genetic diversity needed for a healthy species is diminished. Unlike now, we have different races of people. We just mix the races, and we create a stronger genetic make up. In the future, there will be less and less diversity, making the race weak, eventually leading to extinction. That is the problem of the aliens. How to solve that problem? They go back to the past and harvest some less evolved group of human genes, mix it with theirs, and stop their extinction. They have time machines. They can do that with their intelligence. But what do i know? I am just an ape.

I was wondering if there were any articulated machines that could bend and react as quickly in unison, if not quicker, as human body parts. Mainly something that acts as an arm or leg. I have an idea for something, but if machine parts can’t accomplish motions such as those, I doubt they could accomplish what I plan to someday create.
~~13 year old future weapons engineer.
I just saw a show on 60 minutes where the military has supported the development of a fully articulated arm with a hand having fully movable 4 fingers and a thumb! It is still under development to be able to give it to people, but it exists and it actually works.
