What is the name of the anime with a girl, her little brother and an android who slowly becomes human?

It use to be on Adult Swim years ago. I can’t remember the name of it but I would really like to watch it again. I do believe that the girl and the android end up falling in love. I also remember an episode where they encounter their mother and she ends up shooting herself.

I’m pretty sure your talking about Kikaider.
